Marketing
The Selling of Products or Services.
Marketing is a business activity of presenting products and services in a way that make them desirable.
I think most of you would agree with the above statement and that we all want to present the good points of our services and products. Unfortunately there is a lot of competition out there and sometimes the line gets blurred between what is ethical, truthful and down right lies.
The following pages on Marketing are not intended to be a definitive article on Marketing or a, degree level course and, you will be pleased to know, that I have absolutely no intention of writing an E-book
These pages contain my ideas and my interpretations of the marketing process.
Quote: The American Marketing Association (AMA) states, "Marketing is an organizational function and a set of processes for creating, communicating and delivering value to customers and for managing customer relationships in ways that benefit the organization and its stakeholders.
Marketing is a highly lucrative business that is stuffed full of, self proclaimed experts, professionals and guru’s, and is renowned, for constantly re-inventing itself with new vocabulary, “Geek speak,” the latest, “in words,” or, “phrases,” techniques and other variations on the same theme, according to the time and culture.
Remember one thing, marketing companies and, “professionals,” are in the business of extracting as much cash from you as they can, for their services.
It does not matter how you, dress it up, talk it up, or, give it a fancy name, the bottom line of, "Marketing," is, "Selling."
It does not matter whether you are, "Marketing," a product, a concept or, a specific idea, you are still trying to sell to another party.
As I said previously this is not intended to be a, degree level course so I have broken it down into its basic components.

Operational Marketing:
This is where you decide your strategy to attract and, keep your customers. (It is more cost affective to retain customers than it is; to recruit new customers). |
